A near whole block of surface lots transformed into a high density mixed-use neighborhood, Elton Park brought new life to Corktown. The project required all facets of our capabilities here at ID Enterprises. We were a part of branding meetings, discussing how to appropriately name the individually apartment buildings, while emphasizing the umbrella of Elton Park.
We’re always grateful to be a part of projects with inspired design intents. The Checker Building, the former parking garage for Checker Cab in Detroit, now beautiful loft, style apartments – begged for signage that evoked its history. We proposed a stainless face design, round like wheels, stencil styled font, and checkered accent.
The other buildings, The Robertson and The Crawford, were new ground-up builds which needed some architectural elements to mesh with the neighborhood. We designed, engineered and fabricated 4 canopy structures, unique to each building – as seamless fixtures to the building facades.
